Eight "Central" Factors

1. Discovery/Ideation

What is your promise to the marketplace? How does your project stand out against the competition? What is your Mission and Vision statement? How will you monetize your idea? What role does the business play in your personal lifestyle?

2. Strategic Vision

In what time frame is your product introduced to the market place? What are some key milestones you intend to reach in your first 12 months? How much capital will you need? What is your exit strategy? What are the potential threats to and weaknesses of your operation?

3. Development

Who are you partnering with to bring this project to market? What resources do you need to implement with the least amount of exposure? What does a minimum viable product look like for you? How can you prove a market for your product or service?

4. Design/Branding

What do people feel when they look at your product, your website or app? Can you describe the experience you promise to your customers and is it consistent through all your marketing? What language are you using to draw people in?

5. Legal/IP

Where is your company formed and headquartered? How well thought-out are your partnership- and how bullet-proof your vendor agreements? What is your legal compliance to raise funds? How can you protect your idea (copyrights, trademarks, patents)? How easily can a competitor use your intellectual property and out-compete you?

6. Sales/Launch

How will people hear about you and what is the first thing they see?  What is the best medium to convert prospects into customers? Who are your early adopters? How can you incorporate social media into your launch? How can you test your customers reactions and learn as much about them as quickly as possible?

7. Funding/Scale

How are you approaching investors? What is your value proposition to the investor? Are you valuing your business correctly? Are you asking for the right amount, given the state of your growth? What are your exit strategies? Do you have a refined presentation and detailed pitch deck?

8. Operation/Team

Who is running the day to day in your business? Do you have a need for an office? How much of your business can/should be outsourced? What are some of the operational challenges that will appear? How often does the leadership team meet and how do they govern the operation?
